A SEPA payment is a wire transfer of funds in euros entered electronically in favour of the beneficiary’s bank. The prerequisites of a SEPA payment are strictly defined; this payment is made within the SEPA payments between the participating banks which acceded to the conditions for SEPA payment processing (PDF, CSV).
It was launched on 28 January 2008 and since then more than 4,577 banks in 32 countries have joined the SEPA initiative, which is over 95% of payment transactions in SEPA countries. UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. was one of the first banks in the Czech Republic which started offering its clients SEPA payments.
