A structured bond is an investment security. The yield is usually paid in the form of a single coupon, but exceptionally it may consist of several coupons. Their amount depends on the development of the market value of the underlying asset. An underlying asset is typically an equity market index or a basket of selected stocks or commodities. A structured bond can be resold to the bank at any time prior to its maturity date. In such case, the investor’s return is given by the difference between the purchase and selling prices.
