Transfer of payments among banks within the Czech Republic occurs through the Clearing Centre of the Czech National Bank. Every domestic bank has a CZK account opened with the Clearing Centre through which it sends and receives payments from other banks in accordance with an agreed contract.
Payments are transferred between any respective bank and the Clearing Centre only in CZK, and this occurs in the form of input media (files) pursuant to the rules and time schedule defined in the inter-bank contract
