We recommend that you always observe the following rules:
- a payment card is intended solely for the cardholder and is not transferable
- the card is issued by UniCredit Bank to the client in an inactive status. Prior to its first use, the card must be activated through UniCredit Bank’s Infoline by calling 800 122 221
- for the sake of its security, the card is equipped with a signature strip containing the cardholder’s signature in his or her own hand and, importantly, with a personal identification number, or PIN
- the PIN is never allowed to be noted on the card itself, and neither on any object kept along with the card nor on your mobile phone or diary. In case you forget your PIN, request UniCredit Bank to reissue it to you
- the PIN is not allowed to be communicated to any other persons, any merchants, police officers, or the bank’s employees
- when entering your PIN, always maintain a discreet distance from other persons and, if possible, in a manner such that your entered PIN cannot be observed by anyone
- in case a merchant fills in a bill incorrectly on an imprinter, insist that the bill be shredded on the spot. You will thereby prevent the possibility of an unauthorised transaction
- protect your payment card from any mechanical damage and do not expose it to a magnetic field, so as to avoid any damage to the data on the card’s magnetic strip
- check the statement for your card at least once a month
- report immediately to UniCredit Bank any suspicion of unauthorised manipulation or any suspicion that an unauthorised transaction has been made with your card
- keep a record of both the PIN and the payment card number in a safe place
