UniCredit Bank introduces a unique cross-border internet banking service
- UniCredit Bank, along with six of UniCredit Group's other banks, is offering to its clients an entirely new internet banking service which represents another step in unifying the products offer of the entire Group within Central and Eastern Europe.
- The new service, offered under the name "International User", enables clients to work simply and easily with accounts maintained in UniCredit Group's multiple countries using the internet - and to do so from a single internet banking application with one security system (i.e. a user number and security token).
- Without needing to log in several times, clients can control their company accounts as well as their personal accounts in various countries from a single location.
- In addition to the Czech Republic, the new service is available in Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. UniCredit Bank Czech Republic was the pilot country in implementing the entire project.
"Interconnecting the internet banking within our banking group follows on from last year's unification of fees for withdrawals from ATMs of all UniCredit Group banks and confirms the bank's strategy to provide to our clients unique cross-border services," remarks Radek Jirka, UniCredit Bank's Direct Banking Manager.
Daniel Čermák, manager of UniCredit Bank's Cash Management & eBanking Department, adds: "Clients of all segments can use the new internet banking service in their respective internet banking applications: individuals and entrepreneurs in Online Banking, small and medium-sized enterprises in BusinessNet Basic, and large corporations in BusinessNet Professional."
To establish the new service, the client only needs to have an account open in a given country. The bank that is requested by the client to permit use of the international user service within internet banking will intermediate all necessary administrative requirements with the partner banks. It will become the client's "home" bank that will also provide all services in relation to the international user in future. The home bank will provide to the client one security set (a user number and security token) that also will be used for all other banks.
The client can use the web site of any UniCredit Group bank to log into the internet banking service as an "international user". When logging in, the client will select the country in which he or she wishes to begin to manage online his or her accounts. These accounts will then be displayed. To work with accounts in another country, the client need not log out and then log in again. The client simply "switches" over to another country by selecting an option in the application. The internet banking applications of the individual countries have an identical design and manner of control, thus working with them is fully intuitive for the client.
In case of loss or theft of a security token, the client need only contact the Client Line (helpdesk) in any country in which the client's accounts are maintained. The service is then blocked and unblocked automatically in all countries. The client retains the option to use individual settings (including limits) for individual countries and accounts. The next country to introduce this service will be Serbia.
