UniCredit Bank begins issuing the “red card”

Sports enthusiasts can hardly wait for the start of the football season. For clients of UniCredit Bank, the battle in the UEFA Champions League is now more appealing than ever. In February, all newly issued Maestro debit cards will wear the colours of the UEFA Champions League. A range of benefits are connected with each red card (that in this case keeps one in the game). These include, for example, withdrawals from ATMs abroad under the same conditions as in the Czech Republic and the possibility to buy quality supplementary travel insurance for the holder and his or her family.

This new wallet accessory will delight not only football fans but all clients of UniCredit Group across 22 European countries. "We have prepared for our clients an attractive edition of Maestro debit cards based on the motifs of the UEFA Champions League. This payment card enables the use of all of the same services as any Maestro card. Payment cardholders can apply even more advantages of UniCredit Group. For example, the uniform price list within the UniCredit Group network enables the majority of our clients to make withdrawals from ATMs abroad free of charge," stated František Jungr, manager of UniCredit Bank's Cards Section and Chairman of the Bank Card Association.

The unique graphic layout of new Maestro payment cards presents a truly original and limited edition connected to the Bank's official partnership with the UEFA Champions League. UniCredit Bank is the only bank that offers its clients the privilege to be constantly in contact with the cup to determine the best football club in Europe.

In July 2009, UniCredit became an official partner of the UEFA Champions League and this cooperation will last until 2012.
