UniCredit has started its UEFA Champions League sponsorship
- As from 1 July 2009, UniCredit has become an Official Sponsor of the UEFA Champions League for the next three seasons (2009-2012).
- The only sponsor of the UEFA Champions League from the banking sector, UniCredit Group is making a substantial contribution to its visibility as a European banking group, broadly present in 22 European countries.
- The Czech Republic marketing campaign launches on 18 August.
"UniCredit's sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League represents an important step ahead in developing our brand across Europe," noted Paolo Fiorentino, a Deputy CEO of UniCredit Group. "While the Group has a track of successfully sponsoring various major sports events, the UEFA Champions League has a global impact, which provides us with a premium platform for a sustainable and long-term development of our brand awareness." Initially, the programme will focus on two activities: an opening campaign in most of the UniCredit countries, followed by implementation of the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, offering football fans a unique opportunity to see the legendary trophy with their own eyes and get involved in the high-profile events.
Campaign launch in the Czech Republic
UniCredit Bank will be launching the Czech advertising campaign in relation to direct broadcast of the UEFA Champions League matches via the specialised ČT4 and NOVA Sport channels. From mid-September, TV advertising will be complemented by the print and web campaigns. "During the initial stage of the campaign, additionally to underscoring the fact we are a proud sponsor of the best what club-based football can offer in Europe, we also wish to show our strong position in 22 countries of Europe," specifies Jan Chvojka, the Head of Identity and Communication Department in UniCredit Bank Czech Republic.
