UniCredit Bank is a general partner of the contemporary art fair ART PRAGUE
The contemporary art fair ART PRAGUE, which takes place in Prague from 18 to 23 June 2009, begins again this year with significant support from UniCredit Bank. On the eve of the fair's commencement, the festive and now traditional presentation of the UniCredit Bank ART PRAGUE Young Award was held on 17 June 2009. The award is intended for young talented artists under 35 years of age. This year's winner of the main prize of the UniCredit Bank ART PRAGUE Young Award was The Chemistry Gallery, which received CZK 30,000.
In addition to works of already more well-known artists, works of the youngest generation-recent art school graduates-also will be notably presented at the ART PRAGUE fair. The core of the exhibition is comprised of regular fair participants such as Via Art, Navrátil, Montanelli, 5. patro, Millennium, Gambit, Caesar and other galleries. Foreign galleries such as Bleibtreu-Galerie from Berlin, Galerie Mathieu from Lyon, Art Traffic from Amsterdam, and GalerieRaum from Freiburg also will be returning to Prague.
This year, "EU expanding use" from Bochum will take part for the first time, focusing its attention on Central European art. Czech additions will include dvorak sec contemporary, a new gallery presenting both international and young Czech and Slovak artists, and Galerie Brooks, representing artists from Canada, the USA and India. The youngest generation will be represented by The Chemistry Gallery and zahradaKC, an association of young people engaged in the cultural and creative revival of Prague's largest district, Prague 4.
Original works of almost all art disciplines will be on display at the fair, including paintings, sketches, graphics, sculptures, glass art, installations, out-door projects, and video art.
UniCredit Bank is a traditional supporter of the creative arts and prominent cultural institutions. This year, for example, it again became the main partner of the National Gallery in Prague, The Moravian Gallery in Brno and the Galerie Rudolfinum.
